Nature’s Spectacular Show

Overview

When you witness the awe-inspiring sight of millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles traversing the savannas under the African sun, you can’t help but be overwhelmed by this intriguing phenomenon called the Great Migration.

This larger-than-life spectacle starts from the Serengeti Plains in Tanzania as millions of animals begin their journey towards the greener grazing lands of Maasai Mara in Kenya. What looks like a marvelous sight to us is actually a journey for survival for these animals. As they kick up a dust storm, race across the savannas and wade through water bodies in search of favourable lands, they create an extraordinary sight that will be etched in your memory forever.

As the sun sets on this beautiful land with the savannas painted in golden light and you are heading back to your lodge, you can’t wait to come back to see what nature is going to unfold next.

Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi. Our ground travel coordinator will receive you and transfer you to your hotel.

We start the day with a hearty breakfast and then commence a 6-hour road trip to the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive to Maasai Mara albeit long, is rewarding with a scenic view of savannas dotted with wildlife.

Maasai Mara is the northern extension of Serengeti and is one of the best game viewing areas in the world. This vast expanse of grasslands is home to numerous species of animals. Everything you have ever read or seen about African wildlife comes alive at the Maasai Mara.

We arrive at the Maasai Mara National Reserve by afternoon. We check in to the lodge and have a hot lunch.

Post lunch, it is time for an exciting game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Be ready to spot to a diverse range of animals right from majestic lions, cheetahs, leopards to families of elephants traversing the savannas to hundreds of migratory birds. There is nothing more breathtaking in the world than seeing these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.

Day 04: Explore Lake Elementaita

Today, post a healthy breakfast, we drive to the shores of Lake Naivasha for a one-hour boat ride in the lake.

We then proceed to Lake Elementaita, located between Lakes Naivasha and Nakuru. In addition to being a RAMSAR wetlands site, Lake Elementaita is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With thousands of visiting flamingos, grazing zebras, gazelles, elands and families of warthogs, Lake Elementaita is truly a remarkable sight.

We check in to the Sentrim Elementaita Lodge and have a late lunch. You have the rest of the day at leisure to relax, take a swim or simply take a walk by the shores of the spectacular lake.
