SAINT PETERSBURG

Pushkin (or Tsarskoye Selo) is one of the most popular destinations in Saint Petersburg. You will see the amazing Catherine’s Palace representing the luxurious imperial world with its ballrooms and imperial halls. It was constructed by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the creator of the Winter Palace and Smolny Cathedral. The palace also includes a spectacular Amber Room which is considered the 8th  wonder of the world. The collection of the palace includes a large number of precious works of art, such as furniture, porcelain, statues, canvases, etc., including personal belongings of Russian emperors and members of their families. The palace was destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt as a result of a massive reconstruction project. Most of the interiors date back to the time of Empress Elizabeth, the daughter of Peter the Great, though there are some early 19th century interiors too. Catherine the Great chose to live in a separate wing of the palace. Walk through the alleys of the park with its numerous pavilions, ponds and sculptures.

Folk show is the best way to get acquainted with Russian history and culture and spend an unforgettable evening. You will enjoy traditional songs and dances from villages of Central and Northwest regions of Russia. Everyone understands dance and rhythms of songs, no matter, which language he or she speaks. During the show, a classical quartet plays lovely melodies of the 18th  century. Historically, every ceremony in Central Russia such as wedding or just a holiday was accompanied by different songs. Another layer of folk culture are Cossacks' songs from Southern Russia. Cossacks are members of independent semi-military communities and served as border guards and protectors of towns. Spectators of all ages and tastes will be able to appreciate not only the ability of the performers to bring Russian national colour to the stage, but also their highest skills, complexity of acrobatic feats and breathtaking leaps. The show consists of two parts (45 minutes each) and lasts for 1 hour 50 minutes including the break, when guests are offered some fruit, canapés with red caviar, ham, Russian style Salami, cheese, vodka, champagne, red wine, mineral water, juice, beverages.
