Overview

Flying into the French capital, peering out your cabin window, one look at the glistening city of Paris and you are already in love. Walking down the streets, you realize that there is art and finesse in everything that the French do. Whether it is the gorgeous architecture that takes you back to the different eras of France or the smell of freshly baked French delicacies in a little artisanal café tucked in the alleys or larger-than-life iconic monuments dotting the country, France leaves you asking for more.

France’s little neighbor, Switzerland, is a country that is straight off a postcard. Snow-capped mountains overlooking pristine lakes, turquoise rivers gushing through enchanting forests and quaint hamlets come together to create Switzerland's breathtaking landscapes. A symphony of German, French, Italian and Romansh influences, Switzerland offers a diverse cultural experience. To add to it, Switzerland’s famous chocolates and cheese add another dimension to your European experience.

As you travel through these two gems of Europe, soaking in the culture and natural landscapes at your own pace, you slowly begin to start feeling at home.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paris

Touchdown in the glimmering city of Paris at the Charles de Gaulle airport.

Overnight stay at the luxurious 4-star Mercure Les Ulis in Paris.

 

Day 02: Explore Paris, France

We start the day with a hearty breakfast.

Today, we embark on a tour of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Our first stop is the Place de la Concorde that witnessed numerous historical events including the French Revolution.

Standing tall at the western end of Champs-Elysees is the Arc de Triomphe that commemorates all those who fought for France in the wars.

We then walk down Champs-Elysees, lined with stores of luxury fashion brands from France and the world over.

Our next stop is the grand Opera House of Palais Garnier dating back to the 17th century. Its ornate design and spectacular architecture are testament to France’s opulent past.

Our last stop for the day is the iconic Eiffel Tower which symbolizes love, peace and the spirit of France. As you go up the Eiffel Tower, the sprawling city of Paris leaves you awestruck. Later this evening, we take you on an Illumination tour of Paris, where Parisian landmarks are lit up and the city glimmers under the night sky.

Day 03: Explore Disneyland Paris

We start the day with a scrumptious breakfast.

Gear up for an exciting day at Disneyland, Paris. This fantastical land brings alive your favourite Disney stories, right from castles to characters to fun rides. Relive your favourite fairytale at Cinderella’s castle.  Take an exciting roller coaster ride down the Thunder Mountain. Visit Fantasyland and meet Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and Snow White. Get thrilled by the legends of Aladdin and Indiana Jones at Adventureland. Ride a space shuttle to the moon at Discoveryland.

Day 04: Explore Geneva, Switzerland | Chamonix, France

Today, post breakfast, we embark on our journey to Chamonix, France.

Our first stop along the way is Geneva. We explore the city and visit iconic landmarks like the Palais des Nations – home of the United Nations’ office in Switzerland.

We drive over the famous Mont Blanc Bridge with a spectacular view of the River Rhone on one side and Lake Geneva on the other.

We then continue our drive towards the majestic French Alps and arrive at the town of Chamonix.

Overnight stay at the luxurious 3-star Rocky Pop in Chamonix.

 

Day 05: Explore Chamonix, France| Lucerne, Switzerland

Wake up to a beautiful view of the Alps and start the day with a hearty breakfast. 

Today, we head to the Mont Blanc mountain range in the Alps. Here, amongst the snowcapped mountains, standing at 3,842 m, is the Aiguille du Midi (Needle of the Mid-day) peak. We take a 20-minute ride in Europe’s highest cable car to arrive at laid-out terraces that offer a 360° view of the French, Swiss and Italian Alps.

We then head to the Lucerne, located in the heart of Switzerland by Lake Lucerne. We take a tour around this spectacular city as we learn about its history, gaze at the spectacular medieval architecture, beautiful bridges and relaxed promenades. We stop by the famous Lion Monument, Lowendenkmal that commemorates the spirit of the Swiss soldiers during the French revolution.

You can spend the evening at leisure, shopping for Swiss specialties like chocolates, Swiss watches, Swiss army knives or souvenirs.

Day 06: Day at leisure | Excursion to Jungfraujoch and Interlaken

Today, post a hearty breakfast you have the day at leisure to explore the city on your own.

Alternatively, you can opt for an Excursion to Jungfraujoch and Interlaken. There is no better feeling than that of being on top of the world and that too, quite literally. Jungfraujoch, the highest point in Switzerland offers an incredible panorama. The entire journey from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch is overwhelming. Once you arrive in Jungfrau, you can gaze at the mountains from the Sphinx terrace. The Jungfrau peak and Aletsch glacier are timeless beauties that will take your breath away. An interesting site is the Ice Palace, which displays an awesome collection of sculptures made out of ice.  In Interlaken, you are greeted by the Mighty Three – Mt.Eiger, Mt.Monch and Mt.Jungfrau. True to its name, the city lies between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and offers a spectacular view of the mountains.

Day 07: Explore Mt. Titlis | Rhine Falls | Zurich

We start the day with a scrumptious breakfast.

We begin our tour with an excursion to Mt. Titlis, right at the top of Switzerland. Standing tall at 3032 metres, the journey to the top is as fascinating as the majestic mountain itself. As you ride in two cable cars, the landscape transforms from lush green meadows to snow-clad mountains. In the last leg of the ascent, you can experience the scenic beauty in the world’s first rotating cable car, Titlis Rotoair. When you get to the top, you can enjoy the exhilarating Cliff Walk.

We then drive to Schaffhausen to visit the awe-inspiring Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest waterfall. Just the sound of the water gushing is both powerful and soothing at the same time.

Our next stop is the vibrant city of Zurich. We begin with a visit to the spectacular St. Peter’s Church that has the largest clock face in Europe. We also visit the famous church of Fraumunster known for its mesmerizing stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall and the beautiful church in Grossmunster with its twin Romanesque towers.

Day 08: Departure from Zurich

With a heavy heart, we say goodbye to Europe today.

Post breakfast, catch your flight back home.

The following terms and conditions form the basis of your contract with Al Majid Travel & Tourism LLC.  Please read them carefully as they contain important information.  By asking us to confirm your booking, we assume that you have read these terms and conditions and agree to them. 

As an Agent, Al Majid Travel & Tourism LLC arranges travel experiences and transportation with a large number of suppliers in the United Arab Emirates and around the world. These suppliers provide the following list of services.

·         Scheduled, Low Cost and Charter Airlines

·         Hotels, Villas, Apartments and Guesthouses

·         Package Holidays

·         Self-drive and chauffeur-driven car hire

·         Airport, Port and Resort Transfers

·         Luxury and Standard Rail Transportation

·         Ocean, Fjord and River Cruises plus Shore Excursions

·         Individual and Group Tours

·         Sightseeing and Attractions (including Theme and Water Parks)

·         Live Shows

·         Travel Insurance

·         UAE and International Visas

Each of these suppliers will have their own individual terms and conditions that will be explained to you prior to the booking being made. Copies are also available upon request.

BOOKINGS

A booking will only be made if the lead name in the booking is aged 18 years or older. The lead name assumes full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the travelling party accept the supplier’s terms and conditions. This person is also responsible for ensuring that all requested information is 100% correct. Failure to do so may result in the booking being rejected by any of the suppliers with no refund on any applicable cancellation charges. The information generally required includes the residency for each individual member of the party as well as the correct spelling of names, title, sex and age as per their passports.

PASSPORT, VISA & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

It is the responsibility of the lead name to provide current copies of all passports for the party and to notify us if any member of the party has a passport (or UAE residence visa if applicable) due to expire with  6 months of the arrival back in the UAE post-travel. You must check visa and health requirements prior to confirming your travel arrangements, including transit visas if your flight in not direct. If a booking is made and confirmed at any time prior to visas being granted, this is done at your own risk. Neither we nor our suppliers accept any responsibility for either denied boarding or denied entry to a country for any reason, not limited to non-compliance of passport, visa and health requirements.

We recommend that you contact your Doctor or Medical Centre for the latest inoculations and malaria medication. We strongly advise pregnant woman and young families to avoid countries where malaria is present.

A booking can only be made once the deposit or full payment has been received. All bookings made within 12 weeks of departure will be subject to full payment. All services are subject to availability at the time of booking, which may differ from the time of quotation. Prices are also subject to change and cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received and the booking confirmed. For air travel, this means tickets issued. For hotel bookings, this means accommodation vouchers issued. It is important that all vouchers are read carefully for additional supplier information.

PRICING

We offer you the flexibility to create your own holiday from the range of accommodation, airlines and other services available. Because of this wide choice, it is not possible to list every price on every date. A ‘from’ price is indicative of the lowest price available for the hotel or itinerary featured but this may vary depending on a number of factors such as your date of travel, number of people sharing a room, choice of accommodation and airline availability.

The rates at some hotels may vary depending on your residency and therefore it is important that you confirm the residency and nationality of everyone travelling at the time of quotation.

All prices are subject to availability and final confirmation from the supplier. Certain airlines permit us as their agent to hold reservations for a certain amount of time without tickets being issued. It is important to note that in these instances, the fares are only guaranteed until 2359 that day and we are not liable in the event of an increase. We, therefore, recommend that tickets are issued on the same day as the reservation. Some airports charge a departure tax, which is payable locally. These charges may not be claimed back from us.

AMENDMENTS & CANCELLATIONS

All flight timings are provisional and subject to change. However you will be advised in advance of any major change as per your supplier's booking conditions. Only in extreme cases will an airline offer a full refund or date change should you not accept the change. On occasions your supplier may find it necessary to alter your any aspect of your holiday. Their policy regarding alterations is set out in their booking conditions.

Should you find it necessary to cancel or amend your holiday, please contact us without delay. Cancellations and amendments require written confirmation by the lead name in the party. Prior to making any changes, please verify any charges bearing in mind that these generally increase the closer you get to departure. In most cases, late cancellation will result in 100% charges.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend Travel Insurance as protection against financial costs or losses in connection with medical treatment and travel inconvenience i.e. cancellation or curtailment and delay, damage or loss of baggage/personal effects.

GOVERNING LAW

Any matters that arise between you and us are governed by the laws applicable in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is also conditional on your agreement that any dispute that arises between you and us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Dubai, except that we also we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these terms and conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country.

44 days – 31 days to departure : 25% of the tour cost
30 days – 15 days to departure : 50% of the tour cost
14 days & less –100% of the tour cost
